One of the LPFA's primary missions throughout its 25 year history has been to promote environmental awareness and appreciation of the forest's natural and cultural history through interpretive programs, field activities and our visitor services.

The LPFA participates with the Forest Service in the operation of a number of interpretive centers and we are in the process of developing partnerships with other organizations and individuals to promote appreciation of and care for the forest's natural, historical, and cultural resources.
