Becoming an LPFA Volunteer
provides many rewards!

Responsibility deals with our respect for the total environment, including our national forest. Responsibility is a basic attitude, our environmental style to put it in a slightly different perspective. We can demonstrate this through participation in the various volunteer programs offered by the LPFA.

A main goal of the LPFA is the care and protection of Los Padres National Forest and the surrounding environment. We work closely with the Forest Service, other public agencies, and local volunteer organizations to develop and lead volunteer projects. Caring for the forest requires everyone's help. Now is the time to become a part of our forest care volunteer program.

LPFA currently provides more than 20,00 volunteer hours of work each year to help improve the forest. Volunteers work as greeters at the forest district offices, support interpretive activities by acting as docents at Wheeler Gorge Visitor Center, provide valuable trail improvements both on day projects and our Working Vacations program in the backcountry andrange through the forest as a Volunteer Wilderness Rangeramong many exciting and rewarding volunteer opportunities. If you would like to share your enthusiasm, time and good work to help us take care of the forestyou are cordially invited to join us!
